The Presidential Candidate of the Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2020 Elections, John Mahama has called on Ghanaians who are disappointed in the ruling of the Supreme Court, to rather channel their energy in preparation for the 2024 Election.

“I can assure you that even though this is not the outcome we expected, I am sure your votes will spare us on to victory in the future,” he stated.

In his address to Ghanaians from his office in Accra today after the Supreme Court Ruling, Mr. Mahama said the refusal of the Electoral Commission (EC) Boss, Jean Mensah from testifying at the Supreme Court is a bad precedent for other state institutions in the country.

The former President stated that the NDC would do nothing to compromise the stability of the country despite the mix-feelings on the ruling.

“We will do nothing to compromise the stability of this country. We will, however, continue to be a voice to the voiceless, and we will not be distracted from our goal of demanding justice and fairness for the people of Ghana at all times,” he added.

Mr. Mahama pointed out that the NDC has proven to be the most viable party in the rapid transformation of the socio-economic development of the nation.

“To the over 6-million Ghanaians who entrusted me with their votes, I cannot thank you enough for this honour done me. I value your votes so much, it reflects the confidence you have in our ideology, in our ethics and most importantly in the 2020 Peoples Manifesto that we presented in this nation,” he noted.

The Former President commended Civil Society Organizations and other relevant bodies who spoke boldly at all times for the betterment of the nation.

“I also want to commend the courage and commitment of Civil Society Organization, Religious groups and Journalist who have dedicated their lives to speaking truth to power, irrespective of which individual or party seats at the Flag Staff House. Whiles in office my administration tolerated your views even when we disagree with them,” he disclosed. — capitalnewsonline
